{ there's no time to think about whether he really shouldn't have been holding back as much as he was when she's literally throwing everything she has at him. he'll summon barachiel's shield first, but even that will shatter on impact so he has to do more than that. his shirt is shredded at the back as he starts chanting as quickly as he can, practically begging gabriel so he can have more support for this. normally he wouldn't use gabriel's power for sparring but he's about to get absolutely fucked if he doesn't.
and within a second to spare once his shield from barachiel shatters, a huge wing tears from his back as pure gold light. it whips around, aiming to blast some of that back at her while also shield him a bit better from what does hit.
gabriel's blessing is not child's play though. as a blessing from one of the strongest and well known archangels he knows it should only be used sparingly. he can't hold back when he uses it so when it does meet her attack it really will cause an explosion between them both. rip.
they can both just be glad he can only use it at half power atm.
he winces as some of the flames and sparks hit him as they meet that holy blast in the middle, the wing flapping down in front of himself to block some of it. he's less concerned about himself here though. }
